My eldest boy had been wanting a superhero cape for a while, so when I found this tutorial I thought I’d have a go: superhero cape from a t-shirt
I used some of daddy’s old t-shirts and made the logos from felt which I sewed on. I used the boys’ initials so each had his own personalised superhero logo. I ended up with 2 very happy superheroes! Now, I wonder if they can use their powers for good and help me with the housework…
I experimented with making stuffed animals from scraps & produced these cute little foxes. The first one used red corduroy from an old skirt and some polka dots for his tummy. The second is old red gingham with a liberty lawn tum, and the 3rd is some Amy Butler with the same polka dot tummy as the first. All 3 have linen stripes on their heads and tiny button noses. I embroidered faces and added my label too. All in all, I like them!
I’m making a mini quilt for my shop with this gorgeous linen Echino print from m is for make. The print looks even better in real life, the colours are so vivid – I just love it.
This is a fantastic website for buying pallet racking.
We’ve been having lots and lots and lots of rain here. It’s good for the plants I know, but not so much fun for small boys who want to play out! We went swimming (in the pool, not the rain) and to granny’s house and eventually made it to Sunday evening, phew. I had a parcel of nice things delivered on Friday so that helped me through. Look: Ah, fabric. And a bit of ribbon as well. Lovely. From Prints to Polka Dots, one of my favourite online fabric shops, always so much to choose from! Thanks for the quick delivery, you saved my sanity.
Not sure what I’ll do with these lovelies yet but they will come in handy I’m sure.
Everything is coming into bloom and leaf at the moment. Inspired by all the new green growth around I made this cute flowerpot one afternoon using fabric scraps, it turned out really well. The pot is pieced patchwork and the leaves are appliquéd. After I took this photo I embroidered a little stalk to connect the leaves to the pot.
